About Us

Charlotte Jane Cakes was established in 2011 by Charlotte Donohoe to design luxury bespoke cakes to order. Charlotte’s celebration cakes includes a range of bespoke luxury wedding cakes, celebration cakes, cupcake towers, dessert tables, wedding favours and confections for clients in the South of England covering the Cotswolds, Oxfordshire, the home counties and London. 


 

Charlotte also offers Cake Decorating Classes for adults and children with a selection of different classes to suit a range of abilities. From beginner right through to advanced, all her Masterclasses and Workshops are held at her cake studio, Oxford. Check out the cake decorating page on this website.

Charlotte can also be booked for either children's cupcake decorating parties (ages 7-16 years) or Hen parties (groups of 8-24 hens) Various packages for all budgets. In January 2021 with all wedding cakes and face to face teaching still on hold, Charlotte diversified to make a range of delicious handmade artisan fudge. With a flair for style and decoration after 10 years in the wedding industry Charlotte designed some stunning fudge decorated with yummy Belgian Chocolate and edible pressed flowers. It is now all for sale in her website shop.

In summer 2023 Charlotte Jane Cakes launched her wedding favours by post. She now makes a selection of her ever popular handmade fudge or handmade iced cookies. These can be bought in quantities of 10 favours and are beautifully packaged in clear bags with double satin ribbon.

Oxford based Charlotte Donohoe of Charlotte Jane Cakes started baking when she was 8 years old. Her first baking adventure was making some fairy cakes for her hostess badge in the Brownies. With her Mum’s Kenwood Chef she spent her childhood weekends baking yummy treats for the family.
Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, she left the fast-paced world of recruitment behind to focus on her first love – baking. In early 2011 she established Charlotte Jane Cakes Limited and adapted her home kitchen to become a charming space in which to bake and decorate celebration cakes and also teach her masterclasses in cake decorating. In 2014 Charlotte took her baking skills to
GBBO An Extra Slice where she was featured with her meringue Union Jack!

 

In May 2024 Charlotte Jane Cakes launched the Cake Shed Boars Hill to provide delicious homemade cake to the local area. The Cake Shed is actually a very small shed which is stocked with slices of cake and cookies every weekend Friday-Sunday. It is located just outside Charlotte Jane Cakes Studio on Boars Hill Oxford. Charlotte lives with her partner David and children in Wootton Village, Boars Hill on the outskirts of the city of Oxford. When Charlotte isn't in her cake studio she enjoys family walks with their Labrador, gardening, entertaining, volunteering as a Brownie leader and spending time with her family and friends.
